Today I’m offering this sweet Vintage Patriotic Children Image! This image was scanned from a Circa 1920 Children’s Rhyme Book. This beautiful illustration shows a group of young children with an America Flag. I think it would be fun to color this one in!   1. The children are saluting the flag in the old way, where your hand was extended toward the flag as you said the words “to the flag”. Showing my age, I remember doing this in school in the early 40’s. The gesture was dropped because it was too close to the Nazi salute.
