I was selected, via Blogher, to review ArchetypeMe.com, an interesting, new website that helps people discover more about themselves! I love anything to do with personal development and I’ve spent loads of time reading books, and blog posts about self improvement. I’m also an avid viewer of Oprah’s network (I love Super Soul Sunday and Life Class especially!), so I was really excited to take part in this program.
My assignment for this first post is to discuss, “Who do I think I am?” Well now, that’s kind of a big question for any of us, isn’t it? We are pretty complex, us humans! The first thing I did was ask my best friend what he thought…
And he was no help what so ever! Ok, seriously though, here are a few of my own thoughts… I am a child of God. I am a Woman. I am a Wife and a Mother. I am a friend. I am a Blogger and a Business Person. I am an introvert. I can be shy until I get to know you, and sometimes that gets mistaken for snobbishness. I am sensitive. I love animals (especially my Corgi!). I love old things, like antiques and old farmhouses and even old people, and I have since I was a little girl. I am creative. I guess I could go on and on, but I’ll stop here for now.
I was also asked… what would I like to change about my personality? I guess it would be the fact that I tend to have a hard time with change. I get stuck in a rut with my routines. I tend to eat the same foods every day, wear similar outfits each day, do the same tasks each day, etc. When my routine gets disrupted, it can throw me off, unless I’m able to plan in advance for it. It would be nice to be able to be more at ease with being spontaneous.
The purpose of ArchetypeMe is to help you know the world, and yourself, better, all through the filter of archetypes! Have you ever wondered … Who am I? Why do I like the things that I like? Why do people act the way they do? Why do we get along so well with some people and not with others? Once you get to know your archetype, as well as those of your friends and family, all of these things make more sense.
If you’ve been scratching your head over these kinds of questions, then try checking out the new website, ArchetypeMe.com, and take the quiz to discover your archetype! The website is dedicated to curated self-expression and personal discovery, through the filter of archetypes. How intriguing!
If you want to explore more about what archetypes can reveal to you, then check out the book “Archetypes: Who Are You?” which is currently available. Also, watch for the new webisode series that will be premiering at the end of January/early February.
