This was a very exciting recent find!!! This amazing French Holy card was glued into the front of a circa 1851 religious book. The card shows an incredibly beautiful flaming Sacred Heart! Gorgeous!!! I also adore the sunburst surrounding the heart and the beautiful Dove flying above. An exceptional image for your religious or spiritual, collage or mixed media projects!

That really is amazing! I don’t know if it’s enlightenment or what, but religious people know their art…
Thank you so much for taking the time to bring as all these wonderful goodies!

Hi Karen,
This is truly a great find..thanks for sharing it…
FYI…this particular image is called an “Immaculate Heart” {of Mary} and is always encircled with flowers.
The “Sacred Heart” {of Jesus} is always encircled with thorns.
Hugs,
Stephanie

A very special Good Morning to you Karen as it’s Mother’s Day (Mothering Sunday) here in UK. And what a fitting tribute your vintage find is: it symbolises divine light and devotion – the epitomy of All Things Motherly. Serendipity or what?
Plus a little treat knowing your panchent for Frenchness; there is none other but the splendid Basilique du Sacré-Coeur de Montmartre (Basilica of the Sacred Heart) in Paris – Montmartre butte being the highest point in the city.
Warmest best ~ Izabella

I had this niggling thought… yes, erm, umm… it was penchant, of course, I meant to say. Twinkle fingers me, typing speedily 🙂
Off now for a generous slice of creamy cake and tea. Lovely.
Catch you later, Ix

Exquisite, and one I will share, with your permission, with some of the Nuns who taught me – the Grey Nuns of the Sacred Heart – the American branch of an originally french Canadian order, Grey Nuns of the Cross. Their crucifix has the Sacred Heart in the center and fleur-de-lis on each end.

The dove represents the Holy Spirit (Ghost).

I’d like to use this image in my blog. Do you have any more info that can help me figure out if it’s in the public domain?
