This wonderful Antique Printer’s Ornament was submitted by Esther Salathe from Switzerland, via my new Submission Page! According to Esther this image is 150 years old, she found it in her old family Bible! I love the Baroque style of this one with all of it’s swirls and ornate scrolls! There are 2 charming Cherubs in the mix too. The center of the original image had a little Urn in an oval frame. I’ve created a second version with out the urn, in case you would like to add a picture, text or maybe even a monogram, of your own. Thank you Esther for sharing this with all of us!

Well, ACTUALLY, they are putto (plural- putti) and not cherubs…. Cherubs are angels and are always depicted with wings….. Although putto generally are allegorical reference to the presence of God- they are generally represented without wings.
