Today’s reader featured project is a beautiful Charity Inspired Dog Tray from Denise Marie Saylor Fine Arts! Denise was contacted by the Austin Boxer Rescue Foundation in Austin, Texas to see if she would be interested in donating a piece of art for their annual auction. Of course she couldn’t say no! She had an old metal tray with a horrible finish and some large navy blue flowers in the middle of it. She immediately thought to search The Graphics Fairy’s site with the keyword dog just to see what might pop up. She fell in love with this French Dog Biscuit Label and decided to use it even though she doesn’t speak french. To accommodate the tray, she had to cut it into six different pieces and not use some of the images. She base coated the tray with a copper spray paint, then used Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in Antibes, Florence, Provence, Old White and a touch of Graphite to give it a gorgeous patina!
