Hi there, it’s Andrea from over at The Cottage Market. Hope everyone has had a brilliant start to the New Year and that the rest of the year is filled with tons of good fortune. Today I have a little DIY project for you with an Asian Flair! If you are crazy about Asian food and use chopsticks I think you will like this one. Presenting Vintage Style Chopstick Holder DIY. A quick & easy project that can be done in an hour and get years of use.
You will need some cool Origami Paper or Scrapbooking Paper, spray adhesive, scissors, wooden block cut to the size you would like the holders to be, paintbrush, paint, acetate prints of your images sized to the blocks and a sanding block.
After your blocks of wood are cut…sand till nice and smooth.
After the blocks get a good sand…coat them with the color of your choice.
Now measure the height of the paper.
Cut the paper strip and the acetate to size.
In a well ventilated area…spray the back of the paper…let dry for a minute and then carefully apply the paper and don’t forget to cut the little openings where they will fall. If there is any excess paper…simply sand it till smooth. They spray with your favorite acrylic spray.
Now lightly spray the back of the acetate print…let sit for a minute and then carefully apply to the front. Once again…remember to cut the little opening out. Then you are done…all you need is a good bowl of veggie low mein and some chopsticks.
These are so much fun! Make enough so everyone at the table has their own!
Great for parties and family gatherings!
ENJOY!!!! Bon Appetit!
Quick and easy and tons of FUN!
