This morning’s reader feature are these fun Christmas Boxes, submitted by our friend Joy Dewhurst. Instead of completely stuffing her grandkids Christmas stockings, she decided to create these boxes as an added bonus for treats. For her first step she cut the paper mache boxes down to the size she wanted, and then sanded down the rough edges. Joy then painted the whole box with a moss colored chalk paint, and then once it was dry she painted over it with a silver color. She then used my Vintage Santa with Kids image by printing the image onto a full sheet of labels, and then cut around the images. Next she added some images and letters that she had cut with her cricut machine. After everything was applied she went over the sides and the top of the boxes with chalk paint, and then dipped the end of a paint brush to make the berries around the edge. For her final step she gave it a nice matte finish using Mod Podge.
