Today’s reader featured project is a pretty Country Kitchen Sign from Mary at Vintage Reflections! Mary was inspired to create a sign for her kitchen after spotting a cute country sign at a flea market. It was too pricey to purchase at $55, though. She wanted to recreate the same sign herself, but after a few tries, she realized she just needed to do her own thing! Then the sign started coming together! She painted it in Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in Old White. Mary didn’t want it to look too plain so she painted on some green stripes, then added The Graphics Fairy’s Vintage Clip Art – Chicken With Fancy Tail! To finish it off, she lightly distressed the sign and antiqued it with some dark wax! It’s so stinkin cute, and ended up costing her around $2.50!
This has inspired me to make my own sign for my kitchen…I just love it! To view this project and many more of Mary’s amazing transformations, visit her blog, Vintage Reflections!
