Today’s reader feature is a gorgeous Desk Makeover with a Parisian Flair. It was submitted by Marie who gave this wooden desk a makeover using a mixture of Annie Sloan Chalk Paint Old White & Pure White and the drawer fronts in Country Chic Paint Pebble Beach (grey). She transferred the Paris Letter Graphic onto the top of the desk and top of the chair using graphite paper and hand painting the details.
She struggled with deciphering the worn parts of the graphic as well as the French cursive writing (I would too!), so she Googled and found some answers…wondering what it says? See the translation Marie found: The circular date stamp was postmarked on November 2, 1837 in Boulogne-Sur-Mer, a city in Northern France with a mileage stamp of 643. The letter was addressed to Madame Sugat at 9 Rue Neuve in St. Denis, a northern suburb of Paris. The oval stamp on the top left says Bonne Frères Boulange S•M. which she assumes is the name of the post office – Good Brother’s in Boulange-Sur-Mur.
Wow, Marie really went above and beyond for this makeover! The desk turned out beautiful and I love that she has a matching chair and desk! Too see her desk makeover and other projects, visit her blog, The Interior Frugalista.
