Tonight’s reader feature was submitted by Marie, who wowed us with her gorgeous DIY French Country Terracotta Pots. First, she brushed a random coat of Chalk Paint in the color Versailles onto plain terracotta pots. Using a spray bottle after it was dry, Marie dampened the paint and let it drip. Then she distressed the paint (using a sponge) to give them a time worn and weathered look. She decided against adding a wax of sealant, because she wanted the elements to continue aging naturally. Using the Mod Podge Method and Country Chic Paint Image Transfer Medium, she transferred the French Wreath with Bird graphic onto the largest pot.
I love how this turned out! Visit Marie’s blog, The Interior Frugalista, for a step by step tutorial and to see her other projects! To learn how to transfer images yourself, visit the Transfer Methods Page.
