DIY Painted Striped Vase
Organizing my spaces over the last few weeks has been a major challenge, but getting things all put where they go is a little more fun if it looks pretty. Why do organizing containers have to be so boring? It’s ok, because you can always jazz them up yourself, like I did with this simple DIY striped container. A glass jar from Home Goods, a little painter’s tape, some spray paint, and I have a pretty way to keep up with my paint brushes.
For this super simple project you will need:
Start by taping up your vase. You want to use the tape for the parts you want to keep clear. This graduated design makes the stripes thinner as it goes up.
Tape off all of the parts, then rub down the tape really well so the paint will not bleed underneath.
After it’s all taped, give it several light coats of spray paint. Once completely dry, peel off the tape and you’re finished.
Make sure you give it 7-10 days to dry before use so it will cure well. This makes a great organizing container, but would also look beautiful with flowers. I wouldn’t wash it in the dishwasher, but lightly by hand is fine.
