Tonight’s reader feature was submitted by Rose, who shared her DIY Pretty Shabby Vases. Rose started by painting the vases with gesso paint, and then did another coat of gesso mixed with pink paint. She didn’t love how it looked, so she started rubbing the collar of the vase a bit, and noticed how little bits of color started flaking off, creating a cool shabby feel. After that, she decided to add an antique glaze that she knew would fit the vases perfectly. Next, she added 3 coats of varnish, and then debated what graphics to add.
These projects turned out wonderfully! Thank you, Rose, for sharing with us today! To learn how to transfer images yourself, visit the Transfer Methods Page.
