Ooooooh!! This one is so stunning, don’t you think?!! This is the cover to some old sheet music, found in a book full of bound music. The book dates to the 1880’s. The typography on this Vocal Beauties Opera piece is amazing! I love all of the scrolls too. I’ve left the foxing and other age stains intact, I think the patina on this one is perfect the way it is.

It is fascinating to imagine how the typesetters had to put all the letters backwards and changing the font by hand, and how much work went into one simple albeit very beautiful page.

Thanks so much! Used this one and another for a card which I posted on my blog here: http://beyondthefringecrafts.blogspot.com/2011/02/going-to-opera.html
Thought you might like to see it being used. Thanks again!
