This evening’s reader featured project is a spooky set of Halloween Hand Towels from Ada who has a fabulous Etsy shop, Nodding Owl! Ada sent the best story I have heard in a long time with her submission, and we want to share it with you! Here is what Ada had to say…
A few months ago I came across the graphics fairy website and saw a tutorial on how to transfer images onto a pillow using transfer paper. I ordered the recommended transfer paper, went crazy downloading graphics from your site and then I quickly learned how to sew so I could get to work on making pillows for my 21 month old’s room. After showing off the pillows on my fb page, people started asking if I would make them pillows…. one thing lead to another and now I have an etsy shop, NoddingOwl, and my pillows are even in a local store as of last week! I’ve also started making hand towels because I’m just completely obsessed with transfer paper now! It has been really exciting and it’s seriously all thanks to this website! Anyways, I’ve made a few Halloween hand towels using your graphics and I wanted to share them 🙂 The fabric I used is muslim cloth and I just folded each edge over twice before sewing a straight line. Then I printed the images onto Lesley Riley’s transfer paper (two images per page) and ironed them on to the towel. Viola…Halloween bathroom decor!
Thank you so much for the inspiration!
