This is an amazing antique Ackermann Architectural print from 1816! This print has such a great garden style feel to it! This little structure is apparently the entrance to a park. I think this one has so many possibilities for collage or mixed media art. Can’t you just see some Jane Austen-esque ladies strolling about in front of this little building?!

Good morning Karen – Greetings from UK (South East Coast to be more precise).
A gated entrance to a substantial private Estate would normally have two gate lodges on either side of the main gate in which a Gate Keeper and a Groundsman would occupy. The Estate Manager would be on the Estate in a bigger dwelling. Such lodges are still very much in existence.
Many thanks for your generous sharing spirit. I am your new but avid reader.
Warmest best,
