As someone with a crazy hectic schedule, I have really learned to appreciate any snack food that travels well and can keep up with my life style. I was happy to find out that Nabisco, the maker of one of my favorite childhood snacks, the ever classic Fig Newtons, has come up with some new delicious products. And even happier that they sent me not one, but 2 bags of their new Fruit Thins! Oh joy!! Fruit Thins are a new deliciously unique cookie from Newtons. They are thin and crispy and have actual real fruit and 8 grams of whole grain in each 31 gram serving! The flavors that I got to try were the Banana Drizzled with Dark Fudge and the Toasted Coconut Drizzled with Dark Fudge. Yum!!
People often ask me where I get the graphics for my site. I love shopping for old paper stuff any way that I can, but I especially love going on treasure hunts! I often do day trips with my friend Lisa, who is an Antique Dealer. It works out great for both of us, I help her find antiques to sell in her space, and she helps me find paper treasures to post on my blog! I always pack snacks to bring along, because junk shops and antique stores aren’t typically known for healthy food … or really any food at all! When we are out hunting we often drive long distances and every minute counts, so packing something to eat on the road means we have more time for shopping!

The way I see it, Newtons Fruit Thins are the perfect take along snack! Whole grains and real fruit are always welcome in my diet… I’m not likely to turn down dark fudge either! Add a handful of Almonds and a fresh Banana and you’ve got yourself a tasty little lunch, that beats the heck out of fast food any day of the week!!
Be sure and visit newtonscookies.com to look at all the new fruit flavors, like Cranberry Citrus Oat, Blueberry Brown Sugar, Chocolate Raspberry and Fig and Honey, and also get access to great tips. This is one unique cookie!
