This pretty pretty Pencil Holder was submitted by a reader named Romy from Inkiu, who lives all the way in Argentina!
Romy used something called a Sublimation Printing Technique to transfer the image onto a ceramic pot. I don’t even know what that it is, but it sounds fascinating!! She used the Winged Hourglass image for this attractive and useful project!

You print the image (mirrored) on an inkjet printer that works with sublimation inks, on sublimation paper (some people use common paper because it’s cheaper, but the results aren’t so good). Then you place the print on the object (in the case of ceramic, glass, wood, it has to be previously treated with a special polymer coat… fabrics with polyester can be printed directly) and then you transfer the image onto the object using a heat press (around 200ºC).
