I got a wonderful antique book in the mail today and I couldn’t wait to share something from it with you!! The book itself dates to the early 1900’s, and was written as a reference for advertisers. It’s filled with all kinds of fabulous signs and typography etc. One of my favorite images in the book is the one you see above of the clip art hands. These finger pointing hands were often used in the Victorian era to point out advertising promotions and this pair is probably the best that I’ve seen, in terms of detail. These work so well in Steampunk projects or collages! There are two versions for you, the original sepia toned and a black and white version.
P.S. A couple of people have asked me to define Steampunk. To be honest I know the look but have a hard time defining it. If you would like to learn more about it you can go HERE for a really good explanation!
