This morning’s reader feature is this Gorgeous Upcycled TV Cabinet, submitted by our friend Doda Smith. This cabinet was originally an old dull brown sideboard that she purchased from a local junk business, and transformed it into this beautiful TV cabinet. Doda first sanded the entire piece, and refinished the top with a Polyvine wax varnish. She then painted the base with a Sarah Jayne chalk paint, and then added new handles to give it a classy look. Doda transferred my Classic Wreath image, and my Bee image onto the doors using Carbon Paper. After the images were traced onto the doors, she hand painted them using a soft grey chalk paint. This piece would look fabulous anywhere!
This is such a lovely project! Thank you, Doda, for sharing your talents with us! To visit more of Doda’s projects, please visit her Blog site here. To learn how to transfer images yourself, visit the Transfer Methods Page.
