DIY Crystal Ball
Many years ago my sweet, and creative, friend Bev from Flamingo Toes posted this fabulous Project on her blog. It was a very clever idea to make some amazing DIY Crystal Ball Candlesticks! I’ve dusted off this old post as I’m sure many of you have not seen it for a very long time, or maybe you have never seen it at all, and I think you will really enjoy it!
Aren’t they marvelous?! You are not even going to believe how easy and quick this Halloween Craft project is to make! You could easily make these last minute if you needed to and the supplies are minimal.

See, I told you she was sweet! Go ahead and grab the Free Spooky Printable that you see above and then head on over to Bev’s blog HERE for the Tutorial, so that you can make these yourself! I guarantee that anybody who comes to your house and see’s these will be incredibly impressed with your creativity!

Is there any way to turn the image inside the ornament so this could be right side up and hang on my tree? I hope that makes sense. Thanks

Hmmm, I am not sure Cynthia, give it a try and let us know 🙂

I can’t seem to download or save the images for the crystalball candlesticks project. Can someone walk me through it? Thanks!
graphicsfairy says
Hi Erin, just click on the image you wish to download, it will enlarge, then right click on the image, select save image as, name it and click save. It is now downloaded to your computer 🙂 I hope that helps!

So many awesome reader projects. I love them all.
I am going to make these, but do not know if I can find the bulbs in glass as most of the stores now carry them in plastic. I am thinking if the smoky effect can be achieved with black spray paint over_spray.
Glass would be optimal as it has those cool optics.
thanks for the ideas.

Thank you so much! This is such a great idea. Putting the clear ornament over a flame does kind of scare me. Do you think it would be okay to put the ornament over a large candle that you just extinguished? Those candles seem to emit quite a bit of smoke when I smother them. Just a thought.
Thanks again for all the wonderful ideas you share!

I’ve seen clear glass baubles which might calm your inner safety fairy, but they are a) expensive and b) in the UK. I don’t think extinguishing the candle will work, it’s the carbon you want (a candle burns with a sooty flame) but no harm in giving it a go.
