Ten- 18th Century Women’s Costumes
Today we have a beautiful collection of 18th Century Women’s Costumes! I hope you have fun browsing through these lovely ladies with their gorgeous clothing! I’m also hoping I got the era right on all of these. Some I know for sure, as they came out of an Antique costumes book, that showed fashion through the ages. Others I had to guess at. Either way they are all very charming images that I hope you can use in your Collage and Craft projects.
18th Century Women’s French Fashion
Here we have two Antique Images of cute French Women wearing a Military Type Costume with a Tricorn Hat. Twins perhaps? Both of our lovely ladies are dressed in bright colored costumes of blue, red, gold, and ivory. Each is carrying a bouquet of blue flowers and a letter with a bright red wax seal. Double the fun!
The delightful lady pictured above is dressed in a Cream Colored 18th Century French Costume! What stands here is her unusual hat! The rather large lacy head covering has a long ribbon that flows down onto her dress and becomes part of the dress across the bodice. I am not sure if the dress becomes the hat or vice versa.
Seen here is another lovely Lady dressed in an 18th Century French Costume! Her soft aqua blue dress is topped with a huge lacy collar and bow tied at her neck. I love her gorgeous hat with layers and layers of lace gathered into a big floppy bow!
Shown above is a sweet girl wearing a soft Pink Coat with Fur trim. She has an ample bust accentuated by the fur. This is an 18th century French costume with a side view. She is wearing a straw hat adorned with pretty pink ribbons.
Here is another lovely girl dressed in an 18th Century French Costume! Seen from the back, she is wearing a cream colored dress with a sort of apron tied with criss cross straps in the back. Worn close to her head, the pretty hat seems to be made of a dark velvet with embroidered flowers!
Costume Girl Bookmark
This is a Lovely Vintage Bookmark Image!! Featured here is a pretty, and useful, piece of Paper ephemera. The cute bookmark displays a beautiful woman on the front of it. She is inside of a fancy Art Deco style frame. You can print this out onto some card stock and use in your favorite book!
18th Century Costumes Ladies Black and White Pictures
Here we have a Beautiful Duchess of Devonshire Image! This one comes from a book in my collection; it’s a rare Circa 1907 Pyrography catalog! The catalog is full of patterns, tools, and accessories for the art of pyrography, which is the burning of a design into wood. This intricate design would have been used for that purpose, then typically added to boxes or small furniture pieces. Such a classic image of the Duchess of Devonshire … quite a beauty! I love the Leaf frame on this one too!
Here I am offering a Vintage Costume Lady! It is a fun illustration from a Circa 1880 Costume book. According to the caption, she is a ‘Footwoman.’ Wearing a Tricorn hat, a tailored double breasted jacket, a fancy quilted skirt, and some tiny buckle shoes, she definitely commands attention! I love that she is done as a sketch, and think she would look great colored in! You could use artist markers, water colors, or colored pencils to embellish this drawing with. I hope you like her!
Here we see a few gentleman have joined our fashionable ladies! Shown above are two groups of people wearing Period Costumes. I like the little Dog peeking around the corner!
