The Reveal
Some of you may recall my previous post where I was in the process of selecting a color for our Master Bathroom, using Glidden® Paint. Well, this is it, today is the day that I get to reveal our newly painted and decorated Master Bath!
Also, be sure and comment at the bottom of this post to be entered to win the $100 Visa Gift Card!
I took a photo at night too, so that you could see how pretty the curtains look. It’s so hard to photograph them with the light coming in behind them. The curtains tie in the blue from the Master Bedroom, to give a more cohesive look to the whole space, without having to paint both rooms blue.
I’m so pleased with the light and airy feel of the room. If you notice the ceiling above, that was the original color of the walls. I like the contrast of the lighter color of the vaulted ceilings against the creamier tan color of the walls.
This is my husband’s sink. We purchased new light fixtures and my stepson installed them for us.
This is my sink. I also added faux orchids on both sides of the room. I could do with a few more accessories, but that’s okay, I can take my time doing that.
I found a sweet little Pillow with some Paisley embroidery, to accent the Iron Garden Chair in the corner.
Selecting the Perfect Color
I went with Glidden Duo™ Paint, which is Paint and Primer all together in one can. Yay! I used Eggshell so that my walls will have a slight sheen and be easier to clean than with a flat paint. I purchased my paint at Home Depot, but you can also find Glidden® paint at Walmart and other fine retailers.
The Before
This was my bathroom before. Just sort of blah with its builder’s beige paint.
It’s amazing what a difference a simple thing like paint can make to a home, and trust me it is simple, everyone can paint. You can totally do this too! If you’re at all scared, use the Glidden paint’s color tools like I did, they really do take a lot of the guesswork out of the process.
The vaulted ceilings really stand out now and the room is so serene and lovely. I just need to hem those curtains now, or raise the curtain rod, I haven’t decided which way to go on that yet! I hope you enjoyed this reveal!

Such great colors. Makes a big difference in your bath. I would love to paint my living room and entry. It’s a huge space with lots of light. Now it is your basic off white blah.

That turned out beautifully, Karen! The colors go so well together!

I’m loving your bathroom. Thanks for sharing. Since I’m moving into the French Country period of my life, I would love to choose a new color for my bedroom. I’m thinking something blue-y, grey-y, white-y…..

Nice! That paint makes a difference for sure, but so do the light fixtures. Great choice! I hate those Hollywood light bars that builders always install. Love the makeover!

Looks fantastic!
I would love to paint *most* of the rooms in my house, but the paint in my kitchen is actually peeling in a couple places on the ceiling, so that would take highest priority. 😉

Pretty color; love it with the blue! As for the curtains, raise the rod to be even with the wall line where it meets the slanted line to the peak.

Love the color of the walls and the pictures of how the room was transformed. Just repainted one bathroom and am looking to transform my tiny kitchen next. I must have some of the oldest stainless steel backsplash tiles in the history of housebuilding, and want to choose a color that will complement this or be a cheerful contrast. The room is small and I intend the upper part of one wall to be pegboard (à la Julia Child) to hang my pots, pans and utensils. The way my luck has been lately (I broke my leg last week and surgery is tomorrow) I’m not counting on winning, but the Graphics Fairy keeps me in a good aesthetic place.
Cheers to all.

Your bathroom looks lovely and fresh. I am working on finishing our bedroom remodel. My husband of 43 years passed away in Dec.2012 and I want to go ahead with what we started. I brought some Glidden swatches home and have looked at more colors online, and I think I really like ‘Silver Dust’. I also like Antique Silver, but it may be too dark and the bedroom is small.
Your blog is always an inspiration.
Thank you ~ FlowerLady
