The Reveal
Some of you may recall my previous post where I was in the process of selecting a color for our Master Bathroom, using Glidden® Paint. Well, this is it, today is the day that I get to reveal our newly painted and decorated Master Bath!
Also, be sure and comment at the bottom of this post to be entered to win the $100 Visa Gift Card!
I took a photo at night too, so that you could see how pretty the curtains look. It’s so hard to photograph them with the light coming in behind them. The curtains tie in the blue from the Master Bedroom, to give a more cohesive look to the whole space, without having to paint both rooms blue.
I’m so pleased with the light and airy feel of the room. If you notice the ceiling above, that was the original color of the walls. I like the contrast of the lighter color of the vaulted ceilings against the creamier tan color of the walls.
This is my husband’s sink. We purchased new light fixtures and my stepson installed them for us.
This is my sink. I also added faux orchids on both sides of the room. I could do with a few more accessories, but that’s okay, I can take my time doing that.
I found a sweet little Pillow with some Paisley embroidery, to accent the Iron Garden Chair in the corner.
Selecting the Perfect Color
I went with Glidden Duo™ Paint, which is Paint and Primer all together in one can. Yay! I used Eggshell so that my walls will have a slight sheen and be easier to clean than with a flat paint. I purchased my paint at Home Depot, but you can also find Glidden® paint at Walmart and other fine retailers.
The Before
This was my bathroom before. Just sort of blah with its builder’s beige paint.
It’s amazing what a difference a simple thing like paint can make to a home, and trust me it is simple, everyone can paint. You can totally do this too! If you’re at all scared, use the Glidden paint’s color tools like I did, they really do take a lot of the guesswork out of the process.
The vaulted ceilings really stand out now and the room is so serene and lovely. I just need to hem those curtains now, or raise the curtain rod, I haven’t decided which way to go on that yet! I hope you enjoyed this reveal!

I want to paint our master bedroom in the near future- but first I have to wait for my shoulder to recover from surgery. 🙁

I love the color palette, especially the Whispering Wheat – with the white fixtures and blue accents, the room looks beautiful.

Absolutely lovely! Amazing what the right color of paint can do. Beautiful results! TFS

Elaine, I just painted my entire open concept living room/dining room, etc. with grey matters, too. Guess we’re both pretty smart. I didn’t use the SW paint though. (Too spendy.) Anyhoo I love the color! As for the comment about eggshell paint being more washable, I always thought so too, but I had a very experienced paint salesman tell me that that is no longer the case. Finally, I just want to give a mention for Glidden Gel Door and Trim paint. I live this stuff for cabinets, trim and doors. Goes on easily, great coverage, self leveling, no dripping even if you don’t take doors down, and cleans and wears like iron! Only negative is the odor.

I love the color! It looks so warm and inviting!

I love the color tools! I played around with them for a while after reading the post and am quite impressed!
I have been wanting to repaint two rooms of our house, our living room which is a dull dirty white color, and our dining room which will first require removing some very dated wallpaper. The previous owner installed really high quality carpet….in a light sea foam green/blue color. Whatever we do will need to coordinate but hopefully distract from that carpet color since the carpet is still in great, almost new condition.

if this house were ours (we rent), i would paint every flat surface! the walls are kinda o.d. green/khaki/blah…they don’t go with anything…yuck! i love the whispering wheat that looks a little yellow in a certain light. so much better than the builder’s beige! and that old light fixture…talk about blinding. we have one in this house and the previous house…another yuck! it works fine using only 1 or 2 of the bulbs, but it was really unsightly. thank you for sharing!

We really need to paint the (home) office of my charity, People Making a Difference (PMD), including the patterned (swirly) ceiling due to past moisture problems. The last painter apparently only applied one coat of semigloss deep red, so it doesn’t fully cover a prior, lighter color, particularly where cutting in was done. The glossiness draws attention to imperfections in the walls. 🙁

I’d love to paint my living room.

We just painted my 12-year old boy’s room. It was still the original color we painted it 13 years ago, Restoration Hardware’s sage green. I let Peyton pick the color. I was a little bit nervous since he chose a pretty dark olive green. It is GORGEOUS. Paint really does transform our spaces.

I love RH’s colors. I am especially fond of their blues and greens. I always go there first when picking colors. I cheat and have them made at the big box home stores to save $, but go back to RH for matching linens or accessories. You’re right about what color does for a space. I think it does the same for our psyches, as well.

I would love (and need) to paint our guest bath in that beautiful clear blue sky. Love the color choices.

The only room in our house that is painted at all so far is the baby’s room! So I am aching to paint most of the rooms in our house. But prioritizing, I’d really love to get our bedroom painted! A close second is our kitchen, but we need to get the partly-started back splash done first.

Thanks for sharing — gives me lots of inspiration to make some changes in my decorating scheme.

Wow – how fresh does that look? It makes all the white tiles and fixtures look so much brighter. We just went for white this time. Literally my husband only did it today! Ours is so much smaller though!
