Black and White Ephemera Journal
Hey, everyone! Tanja, of madebytanja, one of our amazing new Junk Journal Design Team Members, created a fabulous Black and White Ephemera Journal for us this week. As you know, we feature one new Junk Journal project each week created by one of our creative team of artists. Our Design Team Members select from the 100’s of Vintage Image Bundles on our Premium Membership Site, for their creations, in order to show you beautiful ways to use those images. We hope you will be totally inspired by this series!
Therefore, please make sure you check out the video tour at the bottom of the page…please scroll all the way down to see it. Are you ready to be inspired? I will step out of the way and let Tanja introduce herself, and tell you all about her incredible project…
Hello, my name is Tanja from madebytanja and I am very happy to present you my first journal here. As soon as I looked through the Premium site, I fell in love with the “Vintage Paperie” bundle. It was immediately clear to me that I would use this paper so I printed out a few pages without knowing what would come out of it. As I looked through my craft supplies, I remembered the embossing folders that I haven’t used in a long time. This combination resulted in my cover. I embossed and laminated my cover to create a stable base on which to build.
I often find it difficult to design the first page. Where do you start, in the middle or rather at the beginning! I bravely took the step of starting in the middle, not knowing that this chosen middle
would become my first right page. By dividing it into two inserts, that’s how it came about.
With the blank pages filling up quickly, I had to find a solution because it was just getting too thick. Hence the division of the two inserts. I’ve tried to keep my preferences and continue my handwriting.
I really like making pages quite full. I create embellishments myself, with stamps, stickers and snippets.
This is how I make tags or clusters that I can then simply insert later. I also like to use washi tape in my stuff to loosen it up and use it to create another pattern on the page.
Pockets also feature in my journal to store all sorts of things, be it notes or tags.
Fold-out pages are also indispensable in a journal and they appear here and there in my journal.
I made pockets in the front and back of the cover so I can put notes or stickers in there.
I hope you enjoyed seeing my journal… take look at the video tour!
