Hello everyone, my name is Emily from pinkpaper44 and this month’s journal is called the Botanist’s Garden. I’m not exactly sure what inspired this journal other than I just love everything about flower gardening, the seeds, bulbs, the terracotta pots and the gorgeous blossoms, it’s all really inspiring and that’s why I decided to create this journal, the Botanist’s Garden.
The cover is made of several green file folders with the closure on the side to make it look more like a box, along with a window pocket on the top for a glimpse of what lies inside.
This lap-book is the base of the journal. I used a lot of the images from Spring Bulbs to create the pattern paper for all the foldouts, envelopes, pockets and hidden spaces.
The main journal is completely removable tied in with a piece of twine for easier journaling.
I made two pockets on both ends of the cover with some vintage paper bags that I embossed and filled them with lots of ephemera for more journaling.
This journal has lots of pockets and tuck spots made from envelopes, book pages, paper bags and other bits and bobs
These pages were inspired by one of their printables that had a design with the seed packets taped on, so I used some of their seed packets to make my own that flip up for more journaling under them and still able to put something inside.
And here are a few layouts I created with some book pages and some digital kits that I thought paired nicely together.
This is a pocket flower press to take where ever you want. I made it from chipboard that I decorated and added some book pages inside to put the flowers in for pressing, the twine is to keep it tightly closed.
And that is my garden lap book for the Graphic Fairy Design Team. There is a full flip through video available at the bottom of this page along with the link for my Etsy shop where this junk journal will be listed for sale.
