Hi everyone! I am Alessandra from Paper Art Alessandra. For my design team project, I created a vintage Christmas journal. This is the first Christmas journal I’ve made, and it’s a bit different from my usual work! I wanted it to be festive with an oldtimey flair. I used several images across various different kits from The Graphics Fairy Premium Membership Site. I mainly worked with seasonal red and green colors, but I added a lot of gold as well as pops of blue. I loved incorporating a lot of Santa and images of animals and happy kids. The cover is made from an antique French book from the 1800s. I love the mix of red, gold, and black. I created a new spine using vintage lace and golden trim.
On the left is a card made using a beautiful vintage gingerbread image from Santa’s Sweet Shoppe; I added a mini candy cane charm. On the right is the first page of the journal. There is a Santa tuck spot, and I made a shaker card out of a snow globe image from the kit Dashing Through the Snow, with glitter, and sequins.
This is the centerpage of the journal. I used the Blue Endpapers Painted as background, with an added gesso texture to look like snow, and I also painted golden stars onto it. There are two lovely vintage-looking images of little girls with golden string so you can move them around as though they’re puppets.
I made a journaling card with an antique image of a Christmas tree from the Christmas Tree Farm kit that I decorated with sequins and beads, as well as a vintage star on top. I created a tuck spot at the bottom of the left page out of vintage wallpaper, also with sequins handstitched on it. On the right, there is a tuck spot made from a vintage Christmas butterfly image.
On the right is a vintage, “Merry Christmas” pocket from Angelic Symphony, with an ornament silhouette journaling card, ready to be decorated. On the left is a moveable snowman
journaling card adorned with a small snowflake with a hint of staining to look older. There are a couple of charms, including a candy cane charm.
On the left is a beautiful angel image from Angelic Symphony; I painted a gold star on top. On the right, I created a page that looks like a present, with a bow as a belly band and an ornament journaling card with a vintage cat image on it.
The image of a vintage girl is a flip; I stained the image and the page behind it (from Polar Hues) to look more antique. Opposite is a beautiful red page with a snowy design background from Christmas Tree Farm, accented with lace and a bird image from 1700’s Sheet Music Journaling Card kit.
On the left is a card that I made using a Scandinavian Christmas image and decorated with fabric. On the right is an image of a Christmas tree that I handstitched tiny white bows onto; I added beads to the edge of the page, over a red trim.
I created two flips on either page here. On the left are sledding children from Winter Fun; I painted snowflakes delicately over the whole page. On the right is a cameo image of a girl and a deer from Antique Sheet Music; I added gold around it.
On the left I created a page that looks like a window with an image of Santa over a red background. On the right is a flip that I designed on my computer using different premium images (the lace frame, the girl, and the background), then printed.

Hmmm, I see these other comments from October, but I’m just now receiving it, November 22, 2023. Anyway, just wanted to say I love this adorable vintage journal! A beautiful job!

This is the first time that I have written a comment but I wanted to say how much I liked this journal. You used some unusual images to create the illusion of a dream. I particularly liked the use of the constellation backgrounds & the adding of wings to some images to make them fairy like.

Hi Tineke, if you go to the “Printables” section of the Premium site, and then in the little box on the left side of the screen select the first option “Artist Trading Cards” (ATC) and that will bring up all of them. There are lots to choose from. I hope that helps!
Tineke says
Thank you Karen. I was looking for bundles, now I understand.
Karen Watson says
No problem Tineke! Happy to help.
