Daphne’s Heirloom Junk Journal
Hey, everyone! Alessandra Bordon, one of our amazing Junk Journal Design Team Members, created a fabulous Daphne’s Heirloom Junk Journal for us this week. As you know, we feature one new Junk Journal project each week created by one of our creative team of artists. Our Design Team Members select from the 100’s of Vintage Image Bundles on our Premium Membership Site, for their creations, in order to show you beautiful ways to use those images. We hope you will be totally inspired by this series!
Therefore, please make sure you check out the video tour at the bottom of the page…please scroll all the way down to see it. Are you ready to be inspired? I will step out of the way and let Alessandra tell you all about her incredible project…
This is Daphne, my latest journal—nostalgic, delicate, and feminine. On the cover is an antique image of a beautiful woman. She inspired me to imagine a story for this journal: that
it is a family heirloom. In this story, throughout the 19th and 20th centuries, generations of women collected sentimental mementos, and eventually a great-granddaughter somewhere along the way created a journal with all the ephemera.
On the right, the background is a vintage wallpaper image from Tattered Paper Treasures 2; I created a small frame using pieces from Favorite French Things and Tattered Paper
Treasures. On the left, I distressed ephemera images and a photograph from Antique Portraits, so they look antique.
On the right, I added a journaling card with an image of a ballerina from The Dancer; the background is a vintage wallpaper image from Decorative Endpaper. On the left, I printed a
music sheet from Sheet music kit as the background; I made a flip with a pink journal cover image from The Florist bundle and decorated with a rose from Emma.
On the right is a vintage pink document from Parisian Pinks and a Valentine’s journaling card from Tokens of Love. On the left is a French invoice from French Boutique
Ephemera bundle, a pocket with a frame image from Romantic French Frames kit, that I decorated with pressed flowers, and a picture that I made look more vintage from The Florist kit.
On the right are three layers of papers: The background is another beautiful vintage wallpaper image from Tattered Paper Treasures; I used a blue image also from Tattered Paper
Treasures kit, and the front is a collage made from real ephemera and a French soap image from Parisian Pinks. On the left, I made two pockets using a piece of wallpaper from Tattered Paper
Treasures and a piece of French document from French Boutique Ephemera; there is also a journaling card I created using Cute Vintage Ephemera bundle.
On the right is a beautiful image of a lady from Favorite Things Set #2. On the left is a blue vintage wallpaper image from Tattered Paper Treasures 2, and a journaling card made with
a blue image from Favorite Things Set #2, and decorated with a rose.
On the right, I used my favorite wallpaper from the Graphics Fairy as my background Tattered Paper Treasures; there is a rose image from Ephemera Romance kit inside a cellophane
envelope. On the left, I created a journaling card with a frame from French Newspaper and Ephemera bundle, and an image of a boy from Antique Portraits; there is also a little ephemera
from Mini French Ephemera.
I distressed a map image from European Maps, on the right there is a photograph from the Florist kit and on the left I created a postcard with an image of the Eifflel Tower from
Favorite French Things.
On the right is a pink wallpaper background from Tokens of Love, a tuck spot created with a black and white image of a greenhouse from Garden Club Tour. On the left is a beautiful
rose image from Tokens of Love bundle.
On the right is a flip made from a dark floral perfume ad from Scents & Soap Ephemera bundle, and a blue image of a document from Tattered Paper Treasures 2 kit. On the
left is a French pink document from Parisian Pinks.
On the right, the pink wallpaper in the back is from Pastel Wallpaper kit. On the left, the blue from the bundle wallpaper Tattered Paper Treasures 2 is accentuated with a fabric pocket
and a journaling card with an image from Roses and Bees kit.

Hmmm, I see these other comments from October, but I’m just now receiving it, November 22, 2023. Anyway, just wanted to say I love this adorable vintage journal! A beautiful job!
Karen Watson says
So happy you enjoyed Alessandra’s journal Cynthia!

This is the first time that I have written a comment but I wanted to say how much I liked this journal. You used some unusual images to create the illusion of a dream. I particularly liked the use of the constellation backgrounds & the adding of wings to some images to make them fairy like.

Hi Tineke, if you go to the “Printables” section of the Premium site, and then in the little box on the left side of the screen select the first option “Artist Trading Cards” (ATC) and that will bring up all of them. There are lots to choose from. I hope that helps!
Tineke says
Thank you Karen. I was looking for bundles, now I understand.
Karen Watson says
No problem Tineke! Happy to help.
