Fall Home Tour
I’m so thrilled to be participating in the Finding Fall Home Tour, that Laura from Finding Home organized! The tour includes 16 gorgeous homes, all decorated for Fall, and wraps up at the end of the week with even more Fall Decorating Ideas from Better Homes and Gardens Magazine! You will find so much inspiration for your own Fall Decorating, I hope you are able to pop over and visit all of the participating bloggers!
If you just stopped in from Jennifer’s place at The Old Painted Cottage, then welcome! And if you didn’t, make sure you go over and check out her lovely home tour too!
I punched up the color in my dining room this year and raided a big berry bush in my yard! I’ll be talking more about that next week and will show you how I made the wreath in the photo above as well. You may recall that last year I went with a much more subtle palette and muted tones, you can see that here.
I added a couple of urns to my dining room that I found on sale at Home Depot for only $35 each! These were a snap to fill, I just placed a couple of Pumpkins in them and more Berries.
I snagged these Wheat Bundles at Home Goods! Yay! They finally opened one in our area! I love white Pumpkins so I had to sneak a couple in, if you look closely there is a second one inside of my china cabinet! I needed it to fill up some empty space, so in it went.
More Pumpkins and Berries, I love how the oranges match almost exactly!
I decided to set my table buffet style, rather than with place settings like I normally do. I like the more casual look of it, and I think it shows off my antique Brown Transferware pieces nicely!
More berries in the Chandelier!
In the living room, I went with more muted tones, although I jazzed up with some touches of silver, like the huge Mercury Glass Pumpkin on my Coffee Table. You can see how this room looked previously from the Summer Tour of our Home.
The Mercury Pumpkin goes will with the Book Page Pumpkins that I made. I also brought back the Horse Print that I had up last Winter. Everyone asks me if that’s one of my graphics, but I’m afraid it’s not. Sorry!
I added some dried wheat to my Antique Ironstone Pitchers for a little texture.
More texture with the silver Artichokes.
I just picked up that rusty Orb from Marshalls, and I’m kind of in love with it.
In this corner I traded out the antique print that was here previously for a new mirror with an interesting shaped frame. I pulled together old and new accessories to make up this vignette.
And yes, I loved the rusty orb so much I bought 2 of them! Shhh! Don’t tell Mr. Fairy!
Loved these cute oversized wooden Acorns, so much that I decided to display them in their own house!
I collect these old concrete urns, they look great indoors and out!
Our Fall Vintage Mantel is about all that you will see in the Family room. If you read my blog, you may know that our kitchen is being totally remodeled right now, and the family room has become the overflow catch all room during the construction phase. I was able to pull the mantel together and that was about it. I layered the mantel up with family heirlooms and vintage finds.
I used this mirror as a back drop to my grandmother’s antique print. I actually purchased the mirror at Walmart, it’s part of the Better Homes and Gardens collection. I think the frame is so pretty and it was such a great price!
A few Hydrangeas from our Garden, some old books (I’ve got lots of those!) and more Ironstone.
I hope you enjoyed the Fall Tour of our Home! Make sure you stop by Melaine’s blog at My Sweet Savannah tomorrow to continue on with the tour! There will be 3 more beautiful homes for you to check out then!

So pretty…I’m heading off to find fake pumpkins today. Silly story that makes me despair of the future…last year my teen daughter hosted a Halloween party. We spray painted a huge pumpkin silver for the buffet table. One boy was amazed that we could get a pumpkin to grow silver. But he noted that his mom had a pink pumpkin and wasn’t it amazing what plants could do! Yikes, this kid needs to get out in the dirt.
Karen Watson says
Thanks for the story Debbie! That would be amazing if we could grow them silver, wouldn’t it?! Haha!

OOOoooh, loved how you used the pyracantha berries. I used some in a church foyer arrangement at my wedding, adding them to bronze-y tea roses, russet-tipped yellow sweetheart roses, greens, and twisted grapevine, I put terraced round trays of grass with little scroll-sawn sheep “grazing” to the side of the arrangement, and in the sanctuary I had more terraced trays on the altar between two calamondin orange trees, roping of twined ivy, grapevine, and pyracantha berries, and a row of potted white mums in front of the altar. The brilliant orange of the berries really complemented the roses in the arrangement and brought out the color of the calamondin oranges on the trees. Made everything pop.
Your color scheme for your living room is outstanding. I love that rich gray and the mercury glass pumpkin. The oranges go beautifully. Kudos! You can change out with so many accent colors for different looks, too. If I may ask, wherever did you get those wonderful giant acorns?
Karen Watson says
Thank you J! You are correct they are Pyracantha berries! Your wedding decor sounds stunning!! Thanks so much for taking the time to describe all of that to me, I could really picture it!
The Acorns are from TJ Maxx, I saw them at Marshalls too and you may be able to get them at Homegoods as well, since they are all owned by the same company. I hope that helps!

Oh Karen. That’s all I can say…. just OH KAREN!!!! Stunning, and so many wonderful ideas!. Being Jewish, we don’t celebrate Christmas, but after the High Holy Days, we celebrate Sukkot, the fall harvest festival. I always started decorating in September for autumn, and then added Halloween, and then in November, switched out goblins for turkeys. As my kids have gotten older and left the nest, I’ve let the decorating slide…. You have rekindled my enthusiasm.
Thanks you so much!!!
Karen Watson says

I love your dining room color! May I ask what it is?
Karen Watson says
Thank you Pam! I just checked the can, I painted the room 10 years ago and I don’t remember the name of the color, but the code is 127A and the paint is Ace Hardware brand, in Eggshell. I hope that helps!
