Here we have a fun little vintage postcard featuring a woman dressed in an asian inspired costume! There’s also a fun red stamp on this one marked “Indochine Francaise“.
I’ve added some wonderful things to my Etsy shop today including several Godey’s Ladies Fashion prints from the 1860s-1870s and some fabulous 1940s brightly colored bird prints! Be sure and check it out if you get a chance.

I just found your site (a friend linked to it) and wanted to give you a little trivia about the postmark. Indochine Francaise is now known as Vietnam. It used to be a French colony.

Thank you Silkcrocs! I had no idea!!
That’s very interesting. ๐

Karen,
I was just about to comment similarly, (although clearly some years too late), about French Indochina including Vietnam, Cambodia & Laos at various times during conflict. Then I noticed the hand-written inscription on the postcard starts “Saigon C.” (Saigon City a.k.a. Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam’s capital city) – silkcrocs was right, it was written from Vietnam. I really wish I could read the rest of the lady’s handwriting, but my brain is struggling between French, English & some characters look German too. If I were a Graphics Fairy, I would spend my whole life with originals up to my nose & magnifying glass in hand, attempting to decipher the history of these pics & never actually getting any work done. LOL
