Seamstress Junk Journal
Hey everyone. Robin Dudley Howes, one of our amazing Junk Journal Design Team Members, created a fabulous Seamstress Junk Journal for us this week. As you know, we feature one new Junk Journal project each week created by one of our creative team of artists. Our Design Team Members select from the 100’s of Vintage Image Bundles on our Premium Membership Site, for their creations, in order to show you beautiful ways to use those images. We hope you will be totally inspired by this series!
Please make sure you check out the video tour at the bottom of the page…please scroll all the way down to see it. Are you ready to be inspired? I will step out of the way and let Robin tell you all about her lovely project…
This journal has 2 of my favorite mediums: Paper and textiles sprinkled with The Graphics Fairy images. The theme for this journal is sewing related. I love having a book or some designated box to house my craft supplies and so with that in mind I decided to focus on all things sewing for this project.
The journal foundation is heavy chip board covered with a collage of vintage fabrics, laces, tea dyed crocheted flowers and a pretty printed image on fabric as the focal. Leaving room on the pages to add vintage doilies for the next project.
Pockets made from the Graphics Fairy, Roses & Bees bundle, adds a feminine touch along with the Sewing Ephemera and Favorite Things bundle. I used these bundles because I love the sewing themes they offer and the variety of vintage style roses made into beautiful button cards, spools and pages.
Some of the pages I have painted, collaged and sewed to add extra texture.
In the Sewing Ephemera bundle there are some really lovely journal pages, which makes a perfect place to jot down new designs and ideas.
I have added hand stamped trim to one of the TGF Printable Paper Spools and added it to a pocket here.
There is also a hand made needle case that has been sewn down as a signature inside of the journal for easy access. It has been hand felted and sewn by me and folds out to add needles, thread and pins.
I hope you have enjoyed my version of a junk journal made for a seamstress and it inspires you to make one for yourself. Thank you Graphics Fairy for providing so many fun graphics and beautiful digitals!

Robin,
I joined the Graphics Fairy group because I so admire the work you do. This is going to be my first attempt at putting together a journal, and since I love to sew, I think my efforts will be to make a sewing journal. I appreciate the opportunity to use the Graphics Fairy images and bundles. I have been using the free items for quite a long time. Now I can really explorel Thank you.
