Softcover Forest Junk Journal
Hey guys. One of our amazing Junk Journal Design Team Members, Lynne Morgado from Mockingbird and Main, is back with us again this week. Lynne created a pretty Nature Botanical Healer Amelie of the Forest Junk Journal for the month of January. As you probably know by now, each week we are featuring a different Junk Journal created by some super artists. We hope you are being inspired by this series! I will allow Lynne to tell you all about her fascinating book in her own words…
Nature Botanical Healer Amelie of the Forest
Hello everyone and Happy New Year! I am back again to show you my January Design Team Junk Journal. This is a nature and botanical themed soft covered journal that belongs to a woman who lives at the edge of the forest in a modest cottage. With a grateful heart and a reverent soul she learns from and uses the nature in her world to help those who come to her in need. She would call herself a healer while others might call her a witch.
While we may never know the truth: for now she is simply Amelie of the Forest…I had so much fun creating this journal and using elements from nature to embellish and enhance the journal’s story, including a driftwood closure that I love. (See first image above.)
The back cover showcases a Graphics Fairy vintage image of a beautiful mushroom that I printed onto tea dyed muslin fabric. I wanted the worn, faded and grungy look of a journal that is carried through the forest and fields and is well-loved.
Ephemera Bundles in the Journal
For this nature and forest junk journal I used soooo many different bundles from The Graphics Fairy Premium Membership Site, I am unsure how to include them all. The quality and variety of nature and botanical themed images on The Premium Site is amazing. Some of Amelie’s elixir ingredients came from the Berries and Cherries Bundle as well as the Fresh Herbs Bundle.
Amelie also studies Interesting Insects, Woodland Creatures, Winter Birds, and Owls and Mushrooms. I created lots of assorted journaling ephemera and also printed onto several of the tea dyed journal pages using images from the Vintage Feathers, Naturalist Halloween, Pressed Wild Ferns, and Vintage Garden Bundles.
The vintage garden journaling cards with pockets have beautiful vintage butterfly and egg graphics.
The card and pocket are already created for you to cut out after printing.
I layered a couple of the gorgeous owl images over one of the woodland texture backgrounds to create a pocket in the center of one of the signatures. Amelie’s journal is a wondrous collection of the flora and fauna that she observes around her.
Thank you for taking the time to check out my January Design Team Junk Journal.
