We hope you will be totally inspired by this series! Therefore, please make sure you check out the video tour at the bottom of the page…please scroll all the way down to see it. Are you ready to be inspired? I will step out of the way and let Anna introduce herself, and tell you all about her lovely project…
Hello everyone this is Anna Hollingworth from LeximbueJournals. For those of you who do not know me, I studied the Dark Ages and I make Dark Age, Medieval and Historical themed journals. I also love romantic, rustic, vintage, fairytale and mythical themes. I live in the UK, very near London in a village by the River Thames .
A big thank you to Karen and Emily who chose me to work with their Design Team for their Premium site! To Lisa, who is a great support and to the other ladies who are in the team for their kind welcome!
For my first project, I have created a journal themed Urban Structures. It reflects the old time architectural style. I wanted it to appear rustic and weathered but also sturdy for everyday use. This book has been handmade by me.
For the cover and the spine, I used these gorgeous images from the Architectural Drawings bundle. I added gold to enhance the ridges and the stitching.
The images that I decided to use, support the main theme with the right colors and tone, creating a combination of elements that enhance the journal.
It was so easy to download what was needed and print into any size I wanted. I used various types of downloads for this project and I adapted them to my own requirements.
I chose ivory card 100 gsm paper for the ephemera and pockets. The paper for the journal is 120 gsm coffee and tea dyed by myself and it is great for any kind of project, including journaling, collaging, painting and drawing and any other type of mixed media. The images were printed on an inkjet printer and they are clear and bright.
There is a lot of sewing and thread tales that give the journal a very special character.

I love this journal so much Anna! I think you always have the perfect ratio of journaling space to embellishments and pockets, tucks, etc.in your journals. The thread tails and the grunge – 2 of my favorite things too!
