Valentine’s Day Pocket Journal
Hey everyone. Terri, one of our amazing NEW Junk Journal Design Team Members, created a fabulous Valentine’s Day Pocket Junk Journal for us this week. As you know, we feature one new Junk Journal project each week created by one of our creative team of artists. Our Design Team Members select from the 100’s of Vintage Image Bundles on our Premium Membership Site, for their creations, in order to show you beautiful ways to use those images. We hope you will be totally inspired by this series!
Please make sure you check out the project photos at the bottom of the page…or watch the video below. Are you ready to be inspired? I will step out of the way and let Terri tell you all about her adorable project…

Love is in the air. Getting ready for Valentines Day and need a little something sweet for someone special? I’ve got a fun project that you can whip up in an afternoon.
Valentines Day always makes me think back to grade school and how every February we were instructed to bring in a shoe box for an “art” project. I was so impatient, waiting in anticipation until the teacher finally asked us to clear our desks and pull out those boxes! We used construction paper and doilies, pipe cleaners and glitter, pom poms and sequins to decorate those boxes. They were masterpieces in red & pink. On party day we’d all walk around the classroom, tucking little envelopes and tiny boxes of conversation hearts into everyone’s decorated box before we finally got to sit and open all our valentines and eat sugar cookie hearts. I loved it all!
This year I decided to recreate a grownup version of that childhood favorite for my own sweet valentine- my husband. I made a simple book cover with printed scrapbook paper; the pockets inside hold tags where I can write some notes to him.
The ‘Vintage Valentines’ bundle from the Premium site was filled with those cute images I remembered from so long ago. I resisted the temptation to fill this book with sparkle since it was for my guy. That was a difficult thing for me! Instead I kept it very simple and let the images speak for themselves.
To finish up the book I found some fun quotes to use on both the pages and the tags. Nothing mushy, just things I thought would make him smile. It’s always a simple way to add personality to your project and for those of you that don’t like your own handwriting, all you need to do is print them out and glue them on. Done!
Since this project went together in an afternoon I’m tempted to make a few more for my girlfriends and really sparkle them up. THEY will appreciate all the bling I can get onto those
pages!
