Homemade ice cream is a favorite of mine. I can remember my Grandmother using one of these old Ice Cream freezers to make her fabulous Peach Ice Cream. So yummy!! This one is a “Triple Motion White Mountain Ice Cream Freezer.” It is made of metal with a handle for turning and a wire carrying handle at the top. This would make a cute invitation if you are having an Ice Cream Social!!
Vintage Cheese Images
I thought these were a lot of fun!! Shown above are three different kinds of cheese from an early 1900’s Cookbook! They are cut to expose the deliciousness inside and were shared so that a cook could identify them. The one at the top is a Gruyere full of lovely holes. It has a yellow color with a dark wrapping. The middle image is a Gorgonzola cheese. It is a creamy white color with blue lines going through it, and resembles blue cheese to me. It has a purplish color wrapper. The last cheese is a Double Gloucester. It looks really old and aged well with its rusty orange color and blue green wrapper. These would be cute to use for an invitation to a Fondue Party!!
Antique Dairy Advertising Image
Pictured above is an interesting little lady who has such a beautiful face, don’t you think?! This wonderful antique Advertising card was for those old Wooden Ice Cream Freezers. Her long brown hair falls over her shoulders. Her pretty eyes are so dreamy I think. It reads, “Use The White Mountain Ice Cream Freezer.”

On the first image the symbol “&c” stands for etcetera, or etc.

Thank you Carol!

&c. Is short for et cetera. The “&” symbol originally was a stylized “et.” “Et” is Latin for “and.” Ampersand is a contraction of “and per se, and” because the glyph we use, the stylized “et,” used to be considered the last bit of the alphabet, for children to recite: “x, y, zed, and, per se, ‘and.’ ”
Which could be translated as “x, y, z, and, -in and of itself- “&””
