Hello Graphics Fairy fans! It’s Marie, aka Crafty Landing, back with you today. I’m excited to be here sharing my next Design Team Project with you all. I present to you, ‘Wildflower’, a single signature journal, approximately 7×5 inches in size. It’s so bleak and dull here in the UK at the moment, and with Winter still lingering for a while yet, I find myself looking forward to the beauty of Spring. The soft colours, texture, floral aromas and beautiful scenery when the world is seen to bloom once again. ‘Wildflower’ reminds me of walking through Spring meadows and feeling the soft touch of flowers gently swaying in the breeze. Let’s take a closer look.
I have chosen soft pastel fabrics for the cover, sewn together in strips. The top corner showcases a piece of vintage hand embroidered table cloth. I chose pattern cardstock for the inner part of the
cover, then sandwiched some wadding between the fabric and card so that the journal is soft and ‘spongy’ to hold. The ‘Wildflower’ name plate and loose tie closure completes it.
At the beginning of the journal, you will find this delightful woman wearing her flower hat. The green and cream tones are perfect for a Spring inspired journal. I found her by searching the Images section on the site, then I placed her on the wallpaper sample from the Sage Meadows Bundle. I imagine her with her friends wandering carefree through the fields and meadows, giggling and having fun. I’ve used the ‘Wildflower’ title again, which I cut out from one of the trading cards found in the Wildflower Field Guide Printables, and layered it with one of the pretty teacup tags from the Chelsea Flower Show Inspired Printables.
Here, I have used both images and printables from the Sage Meadows Bundle. There is a lace pocket on the left holding book page ephemera, a doily and a bird journal card, which I made using an image cut out from one of the journal pages. For the page on the right, I placed one of the longer tags in a glassine pocket, and added a little cluster of lace, a ticket and butterfly from my stash.
This double spread turned out to be one of my favourites in the journal. I love the way the pages look side-by-side. The left page has been created using a collage sheet from the Cream And Green Bundle. It has two flaps; one opens up and the other opens down to reveal a hidden journaling spot. There is a butterfly tab to open it, and in the bottom corner I’ve added a cluster of lace, fabric and paper flowers for texture. On the opposite page, I’ve added a daisy frame from the Vintage Album Frames Bundle, used glassine for the window and made a tag with the pretty girl image. I chose her for the daisies in her hair. Do you remember making daisy chains as a child? I do! She is the perfect addition to my Spring inspired journal!
For the centre spread, I chose this delicate nature scene journal page from The Gilded Age Printables. I fussy cut the lady in green from the Millener Women Bundle. I just adore her hat and parasol. I imagine her joyfully skipping through the meadow with her parasol up. How lovely – I smile at the thought of it! I stuck down some brown parchment paper on the opposite side, and added the fussy cut wildflower image from the Sage Meadows Bundle.
This page showcases the adorable Collage Stamps from the Sage Meadows Printables. You get a whole sheet of these cute stamps in varying sizes. I cut four of them using stamp-edged scissors then placed them at an angle, slightly overlapping one another, down the side pocket. I really like the look. Such a simple idea, but very effective. I finished off the page with a length of pretty ruffle ribbon, and inserted an Edith Holden book page in the pocket.
In the journal, I’ve also used some additional papers from my stash. Here, I folded some vintage music paper to make a pocket, then covered it in some pretty lace. Inside the pocket I added a torn
image of one of the wildflowers from the Sage Meadows Bundle, as well as a poem from a vintage poetry book. If you look closely, you will see the poem is called ‘Daisy’. How fitting for this journal. I just had to include it!
I hope you have enjoyed this quick little wander through my ‘Wildflower’ journal. I really enjoyed creating this one, and I can’t help but feel like Spring has come early. The papers and images are so beautiful, it was a pleasure working with them. Check out the video flip-through to see more, and please don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any questions or queries.

Hi Tineke, if you go to the “Printables” section of the Premium site, and then in the little box on the left side of the screen select the first option “Artist Trading Cards” (ATC) and that will bring up all of them. There are lots to choose from. I hope that helps!
