Gorgeous Angel Dresser DIY!
Today I’m sharing another fabulous DIY project by reader Annie Spackman! Annie transformed a plain Jane dresser into an amazing work of art!! I just adore this gorgeous Angel Dresser and I’m sure you will too!
Here’s what Annie had to say about this project “Beautiful Graphics Fairy angel decoupaged onto a vintage dresser. I’ve seen other people decoupaging images onto the front of a dresser, so I decided to give it a try! I painted the dresser with Annie Sloan Old White. I also mixed up my own gray color using 4 parts Graphite to 3 parts Old White. I found my image here and had it enlarged to fit my dresser. The dresser was $60, the enlarged image was $20.”
Supplies:
1) Vintage Dresser
2) Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in Old White and Graphite
3) Stone Angel Image (Enlarged at a Copy Center)
4) Mod Podge
5) Annie Sloan Clear Wax
6) Sandpaper
Steps:
Step 1) Paint your furniture your desired color. I chose to match my colors to the graphic.
Step 2) Cut around image and size to fit drawers and adhere with ModPodge.
Step 3) Wax your dresser but not the image. I sealed the graphic with two coats of ModPodge.
Step 4) I messed up the top of my dresser and didn’t want to sand all the way down so I came up with a quick fix. I put an old piece of lace on the top and spray painted right over it! It’s like using a stencil:)
Step 5) Stand back and enjoy your masterpiece!
Thanks so much for submitting another fabulous project Annie!! I hope you guys enjoyed it! I adore that lace technique on the top!!
