Beekeeper’s Cottage Junk Journal
Hey, everyone! Angela Senechal of Maker Mom, one of our amazing new Junk Journal Design Team Members, created a beautiful Beekeeper’s Cottage Junk Journal for us this week. As you know, we feature one new Junk Journal project each week created by one of our creative team of artists. Our Design Team Members select from the 100’s of Vintage Image Bundles on our Premium Membership Site, for their creations, in order to show you beautiful ways to use those images. We hope you will be totally inspired by this series!
Therefore, please make sure you check out the video tour at the bottom of the page…please scroll all the way down to see it. Are you ready to be inspired? I will step out of the way and let Angela tell you all about her incredible project…
Spring is in the air…flowers in full bloom and bees buzzing! Come along with me as I explore Winnie’s Cottage Journal! I was inspired by a photograph/cabinet card of Winnifred Layton. I imagined her life as a beekeeper living in a small cottage surrounded by beautiful flowers. The Beekeepers Cottage themed bundle from the Premium membership site allowed my imagination to go wild!
Winnie established her cottage and business in the 40’s. She was accompanied by her daughters and niece as the business took off. And later, when Winnie passed, they took over the cottage. It was a well-loved place!
The ladies worked hard to gather/collect the beeswax and honey to sell to a local town shop. I had fun imagining them packaging it up so beautifully! (The gift bags are available on the Graphics Fairy Membership site.)
Sometimes the women would open the cottage to give friends and family a tour.
I found gorgeous flower and bee postcards for the women to send as correspondence. Their niece loved to hear updates and always anticipated an invitation to visit and or help out during the busy seasons.
One of the few other extras that I included in Winnie’s Journal was a decorated envelope for her to keep store receipts and invoices.
Another fun extra was a Bee bookmark that her niece made for her! Her niece thoroughly enjoyed the process as it involved glitter! And guess what? You can make one too! The Premium Membership site has a tutorial.
I hope you’ve enjoyed your tour of The Beekeeper’s Cottage Junk Journal! Below is a more detailed video of what else is included. And the bundles I pulled from to create this journal are listed at the end of this post.
