“This post was one that Emily did last year with some of the Best Free Fonts for Winter and Holiday Crafts. It was posted over on a blog that I no longer use, so I thought I would pop it over here, so that it doesn’t get lost in blogland forever! ” Karen
This December, Graphics Fairy Crafts is featuring a set of five fonts for your winter holiday crafts. These fonts were chosen to coordinate with your winter holiday projects and would work well for party invites, gift tags, and ornaments. We chose the fonts this month for their very different looks – from a very formal script, to a minimalist font, to an industrial / retro look.
Here are the five picks for December. While we’ve shown the fonts in black and white, experiment with your text color and these fonts really pop!
To download a font, click on the hyperlinked words below each font example. The link will take you to a site that offers a free download of the font.*

We used The Graphics Fairy’s Adorable Elf Girl image and her Old World Santa in this post to compliment the December font picks. You can find both images and a TON of Christmas and holiday-themed clip art on the The Graphics Fairy blog.
Enjoy and please leave a comment if you make something with one of the fonts or images. I’d love to see what you make!
*A note about downloading, installing & using fonts: There are a lot of sites out there that offer free fonts. Some are set up mostly to display ads, and others take you to suspicious files & links. While we don’t recommend one free font website over another, we have tried to link to the more straightforward sites to make finding the font easier for you. Don’t forget to follow the site’s specific directions to download and install the font. If you are a crafter and will be selling your work, please be sure to read any files or information that comes with the font. Some fonts have restrictions on the commercial use of a font for mass production quantities and on the sharing / redistribution of the font file itself.

I can download almost any font that is free, that I want. However, when I open the file there is no place or button that says “INSTALL”. If I can’t install it I can’t use it. I have a Dell PC with Window’s XP. Can you help me to figure out how to get them installed?
Thanks,
Chris

Thanks so much for the font info! I feel kinda dumb asking, but once I download a font, I’m never able to find it. I’m assuming it does not go into the drop down font menu on my toolbar like the fonts my computer/Word program came with? If that’s the case, then you just have to remember the name of each font and then go to your downloads each time you want to use them?
Thank you so much, have been waiting years to ask that question. 🙂

Hi Sheila,
I used to have trouble with that too when I first starting using fonts, so not dumb at all! Emily actually wrote a super helpful tutorial about that on my blog, you can find it here https://thegraphicsfairy.com/install-fonts-pc/
