Today I’m sharing this Adorable Retro Kitsch Calico Stuffed Animal Illustration! Now, I must tell you I am back and forth on what animal this is! Is a this a Dog or is this a Bear… you know like a Teddy Bear? The ears look bear like, but that pose looks more like a Dog. There are some Dogs that look like Bears… perhaps this is one of them. At any rate, I am calling her a Dog, but you can call her whatever you like. Ha! Either way, I just want to cuddle this cute hand stitched fabric stuffed animal who is winking and smiling. Her fabric is, a simple calico pattern, in gray blue with tiny white flowers and the stitches are dark and show that she (or maybe he?) was made with love. The paws and ears are a fun bright orange color, as is the huge satin looking bow around her neck and she has a darling little black nose to boot. Her front paw is raised in greeting and her tongue is hanging out. It looks like she wants to play!

Now in this image, we have the same little animal, but the mood, and expression, is a bit more somber. I just want to hug her close and cheer her up! She is sitting on a red and white gingham floor with a bright yellow wall behind her. Perhaps she is in time out?

These are both such classic 1950’s style Images. So nice to use in your Craft or Collage Projects, or tuck into a cute retro art or junk journal, I think these would make darling handmade Birthday cards too! These were scanned from an old set of note cards in my collection. I purchased the entire box of cards (I like purchasing sets in the original box, so that I have access to any copyright info) There was not any copyright date on the box, or the cards themselves, and they do not appear to have been copyrighted. I am estimating on the 1950’s date, as this was a popular style during that time.

This little guy is a Cute Retro Squirrel in Gloves and Jacket Image! This vintage illustration of a happy squirrel is just too cute. He has large smiling eyes and mouth and his plump body is very plush orange fur. He is wearing a red 2-button suit jacket and gold gloves with red stitching.
