DIY Santa Ornaments
I have a fun and easy project for you for your Christmas decor. These DIY Santa ornaments are super cute, quick, and affordable! I know that many of us get our holiday crafting done early in the season but these would be great to make up at any point during the season. You can even use them as stocking stuffers (or hang them on your tree of course!). After a long day of work and family time, it’s so nice to have a few minutes for ourselves. It’s even better if we can do something that is relaxing and rewarding. What could be more satisfying than turning out some beautiful homemade ornaments?
This weeks Crafty Project are these darling little Santa Head Christmas Ornaments! The German glass glitter that I used really makes the star ornaments sparkle and shine… and the glitter will tarnish over the years to have that perfect aged patina that we all love. Of course you could substitute with regular glitter if you prefer.
For this project, I’ve included a High Resolution printable of the Santa Heads. These were some tiny antique Victorian scrap pieces from my collection, I made them in a couple different sizes for you, in case you have other projects that you would like to use them for. They are such beautiful Christmas illustrations! Of course you may have your own project ideas that you want to use these for as well, and that’s totally fine.
DIY Santa Ornaments Supplies:
- Small Paper Mache Stars
- Santa Printable (Grab it above!)
- Silver Glitter (I like German Glass Glitter!)
- Foam Brush
- Elmer’s School Glue Gel
- Metallic Tinsel Trim (optional)
- Hot Glue Gun
I used some small Paper Mache stars that I had on hand but you can usually find these in almost any craft store or online.
Steps for making the DIY Santa Ornaments
Step 1: Apply the Glue Gel to the Stars using a Foam Brush, and then sprinkle with the Glitter to coat evenly over the star. Then allow them to dry.
Step 2: Next print out the Santa heads onto some plain white card stock.
Step 3: Cut out the small heads (small scissors usually work the best) and then glitter the edges of the Santa heads.
Step 4: Hot Glue the Santa heads on to a small loop of tinsel, and then hot glue them to the stars.

As soon as my hands heal & I can cut these out, I will make these as they are adorable. I think I will adorn a wreath with these for my door. Thank You for all you do for us.
