Echoes of Hope Junk Journal
Hey, everyone! Angela Senechal of Maker Mom, one of our amazing new Junk Journal Design Team Members, created a beautiful Echoes of Hope Junk Journal for us this week. As you know, we feature one new Junk Journal project each week created by one of our creative team of artists. Our Design Team Members select from the 100’s of Vintage Image Bundles on our Premium Membership Site, for their creations, in order to show you beautiful ways to use those images. We hope you will be totally inspired by this series!
Therefore, please make sure you check out the video tour at the bottom of the page…please scroll all the way down to see it. Are you ready to be inspired? I will step out of the way and let Angela tell you all about her incredible project…
After browsing the Graphics Fairy Premium site (which is my favorite pass time), I decided to create a hope filled journal. I was immediately drawn to the “Black & Cream” bundle which I paired with sentiments from “Hope Quotes.” Personally, I think the two were made for each other as this journal came together so seamlessly, and I love the elegance and simplicity of it! For the front cover, I used one of the prints from the themed bundle. I simply stitched a border and added a doily.
The inside covers have pockets stuffed with different journaling cards and pieces of inspiration. I also made an embellished tie closure for the front. I layered several pieces together including dyed cheese cloth, corrugated cardboard, a floral journaling card and a button.
I used various trims, buttons, and lace throughout. There really is something beautiful and inviting on every page!
All around us are echoes of hope. The key is being aware and having eyes to see. My vision for this journal was to create a place to document those occasions. Every page was meant to inspire
you…whether it’s a word, a decorated tuck spot/envelope, or a picture of creation.
The black & cream bundle included miniature envelopes with folded cards. You will find them tucked throughout the journal. They are great for hidden journaling!
I incorporated several bird images throughout the journal. Birds always remind me of our Creator and how He designed and takes care of them. How much more does He take care of us? His children!
I made a paperclip as a reminder that no matter the circumstances we find ourselves in, we always have hope.
The center spread has a large, beautiful butterfly with the sentiment, “Begin each day anew.”
I made this large pocket that holds several journaling cards to write down your present blessings.
I absolutely loved this picture from the premium site; it shows a little boy and girl (possibly brother and sister), waiting patiently. It’s a reminder that we too need to wait with great expectation. Our hope is a sure foundation in which we base our lives.
I hope you enjoy this video tour of my journal.

I love your ‘echoes of hope’ journal and I’m after one of the pages, but cannot find it in the bundles you have mentioned.
It’s the black and cream cover paper with the fringed partitions

Hi Janie, that one is from the “French Floral Engravings” bundle. I hope that helps!
