Flower Secrets Junk Journal by Savera Kiani
Hey, everyone! Savera Kiani of Trinketz, one of our amazing Junk Journal Design Team Members, created a fabulous Smell the Roses Junk Journal for us this week. As you know, we feature one new Junk Journal project each week created by one of our creative team of artists, but this week we are bringing two to you! Our Design Team Members select from the 100’s of Vintage Image Bundles on our Premium Membership Site, for their creations, in order to show you beautiful ways to use those images. Hi there! My name is Savera and I’m honoured to do my third design team project for the Graphics Fairy. This journal is adorned with a curated collection of exquisite vintage images and
ephemera. This time I chose the bundle on the website called “The Secret Life of Flowers”. The pretty blue iris flower in that bundle was my main inspiration as I just love the colors.
I love the variety of images that you can chose from to layer on top of each other to get the perfect effect you want. I digitally layered the images I used on the covers.
I made a tall junk journal with lots of vintage and brown papers.
I printed some black and white images onto brown paper and they turned out beautifully.
I always have the problem of alligator mouth journals which sometimes are not very practical because the user is unable to make it his own by adding their own stuff. This time I decided to
make a separate bag filled with ephemera. I love making ephemera and since I use a lot of textiles, the journals get bulky because of it.
