Forest Fairy Junk Journal
Hey everyone. Design Team member Anna Hollingworth of Leximbue Journals created a fabulous Forest Fairy Junk Journal for us this week. As you know, we feature one new Junk Journal project each week created by one of our creative team of artists. Our Design Team Members select from the 100’s of Vintage Image Bundles on our Premium Membership Site, for their creations, in order to show you beautiful ways to use those images. We hope you will be totally inspired by this series! Therefore, please make sure you check out the video tour at the bottom of the page…please scroll all the way down to see it. Are you ready to be inspired? I will step out of the way and let Anna tell you all about her wonderful project…
I hope you are all well and happy with your crafting. For the month of February I have chosen a theme that would be fresh and uplifting to welcome the first signs of Spring that we will be seeing soon.
What could be more exciting than entering the realm of the fairies! I was enraptured by the Realm of the Blue Fairy so very much. The nostalgic magical colors and images are so uplifting. The cover is an image from the bundle with an enchanted gate that leads to a magical world. There is a Forest Fairy label attached on the top with moss growing over it and a dancing fairy fluttering around it.
The spine is ridged and the top part has a keyhole image of a unicorn and a slender moose standing beside each other in the forest. I have framed it with twine that was decorated with gold gilding.
For the endpapers I chose one of pink and the other of blue background and I added the Ex Libris from the Ballerina Fairies bundle on the end which contrasted with the blue.
I liked the idea of fairy wings and fairies bursting from the edges of the journal so I added them there with paper clips. I also incorporated some fairies that are attached as tabs. They look as if they are ready to fly out of the journal pages and into the fairy world.
I added ephemera dancing fairies as pockets and tuck spots. I printed them, as I always do with pockets, on an ivory card to add strength to them. I also used a few of them as ephemera because they are so pretty.
I love bunting and it reminds me of the summer so I decorated a few pages with these charming images. They are attached on the pages with gold thread showing underneath.
I chose a magical image of the blue fairy realm to complement the magic of the world inside the journal. A lovely fairy pocket with fairy wings attached on the edge of the page gives her the freedom to fly!
Discs of colorful blooms are attached with tiny brads on pages so that they can swirl around and create a feeling of movement.
The front page is a title page for the Forest Fairy which is also the name I chose for this journal.
I hope you will enjoy the flip through!
