This is a wonderful Antique Botanical Print with Insect! Shown above is a tall, graceful Grain or Wheat type plant illustration with a marvelous red bodied winged Insect. The anatomy of the Insect indicates that it is a type of Wasp based upon the unique shape of its three pairs of legs, two antennae, wings, head, and torso. It shows a Mother with her two adorable little girls in the field as the hay is being stacked. They appear to be placing some hay into a basket, perhaps for their Thanksgiving or Harvest Feast. This Antique Black and White Engraving was scanned from a Circa 1868 Children’s Magazine.
