DIY Reindeer Ornaments
Today I’m sharing a Homemade Christmas Ornaments project. Some fun Glittery Gold DIY Reindeer Ornaments! This is a post that I did a number of years ago, but I believe you can still get these wooden Reindeer cutouts today, so I thought I would dust this post off and re-share it. I got my cutouts at Michael’s Crafts but I found a source for them on Amazon so I linked it in the supply list, as I have not been to Michaels in awhile so I don’t know for sure if they still have them there. These were so easy and fun to make and of course you can change them up however you like by using different colored glitter or flowers. Or you could even replace the flowers with greenery etc. I hope you enjoy it!
Supplies for DIY Reindeer Ornaments:
- Wooden Reindeer Cut outs
- Gold Spray Paint
- Gold Glitter
- Glue
- Craft Flower Embellishments
- Hot Glue Gun
Full Craft Tutorial:
Step 1: Spray paint the Wooden Reindeer Cut outs with gold spray paint. ( Safety Note: Be sure to wear gloves and use proper ventilation, a mask would also be a good idea. I sprayed mine on top of some old paper grocery bags in my garage, with the door open for air flow. ) I sprayed the twine hangers on them as well so that they coordinate with the rest of the ornament. Allow to dry.
Step 2: Apply a coat of glue (I used Elmer’s School Glue Gel) and sprinkle on the gold glitter evenly to coat the whole front of the Reindeer.
Step 3: Allow to Dry.
Step 4: Next, hot glue on the flower embellishments. I got these from Save on Crafts. You could make your own out of Tissue paper if you wanted to.
That’s pretty much it! They are quite simple to make but I love how big and chunky they are … they will really make a bold statement on your tree! And the glitter gives a nice sparkle.

Your tree is beautiful! Did you make the blue flowers and the blue/multi-color balls? If so, I’m sure all your readers would love the instructions!

Thank you Susan! No, I didn’t make those, I’m afraid. I bought the flowers at Michael’s Crafts and the balls are from TJ Maxx. I’ll be posting my home tour on the blog tomorrow, there will be lots of links on it to projects that I did make. Hopefully you will like some of those. 🙂

Hi Karen, Love this easy diy! I’ll have to see if our store has them. It’s not like a city store so sometimes we miss out on the goods. Fingers crossed they have them. Thanks for the tutorial.
