Hey everyone, it’s Sheena again from Luna Rozu, I’m back to share my latest Junk Journal! Oh my, can you believe that it’s October already?! Anywho, I’m back this week for another design team project and boy did I have oodles of fun creating this my Madam Wong’s Diary Junk Journal.
This month’s junk journal theme is an Asian one. A little back story: I chanced upon a few letters dated around 1970s while thrifting a few months back. They were lovingly written by a son to his mother, a Madam Marion Wong and so I decided I would try and imagine a yesteryear’s journal that would’ve belonged to this lady. And this is what I came up with!
I found quite a fair bit of graphic bundles that centered around birds, florals and even ‘Kanji’ that I thought would fit in perfectly with the theme of this journal.
My focus for this project was incorporating digital stamps into this journal. I realized I don’t use them enough! I used few of the black and white images as digital stamps, added bits of sequins and fabric to jazz them up. Even the tiniest of embellishments can really transform a 2D image! The following are from the Ancient Travels and Bird Cages sets.
I’ve also used one of the designs from the Cherry Blossoms set and printed them on tracing paper to give that semi transparent silk screen effect for the previous page.
If you didn’t already know, there are tons of envelope designs on the Graphics Fairy Premium site that are ready to print and cut. These ones in particular are from the Birds & Botanicals set.
If you’re planning to create your very own Oriental themed journal, give these other sets a go as well: Black & White Ornate Chairs, Asian Inspired Images, Delicate Butterflies and pretty much all of the floral bundles you can find. I wish I could’ve included everything in, heh. Have a great week guys!
