Hey Guys! We’ve got another project this week from crafter Chris Roy…. Well, the holidays will be upon us before we know it! At this time of year, I tend to get the urge to craft a few new pieces of Holiday Decor for my home. I love simple elegant projects for Christmas and I think this one fits the bill. So please follow along as Chris is going to show us how to…
Make a Felt Kissing Ball!
You may recall last month when she showed us how to make Felted Wool Balls HERE … I just love the Felt Projects that Chris comes up with, so I was excited to see this Felt Mistletoe Ball that she created for the Holidays! And Kissing Balls are such a fun tradition … don’t you agree?

SUPPLIES
- 6″ Styrofoam Ball
- Felt in at least 2 shades of Green (4 Felt Sheets per Ball)
- Tiny Styrofoam Balls (Sensory Balls)
- Small straight Pins
- Ribbon
- Hot Glue
Step 1: Cut LOTS of felt leaves. Vary the size and shape to help give dimension to your finished ball. Each leaf ranges from 1/4″ to 1 1/4″ wide and no more than 1 1/2″ long. Cut a few stems with leaves attached…some in each color. (Chris just cut these Freehand and she recommends that you do that as well, as it gives the leaves a more natural appearance. She used about 4 squares of Felt total for one ball )
Step 2: Attach leaves to ball with the straight pins, overlapping so that the pins don’t show.
Step 3: Once the ball is completely covered, add the finished stems, making sure to hide the pins under other leaves. Cut longer pieces with stems and leaves. Attach small styrofoam balls (these are actually sensory foam balls, so clever!) with hot glue to the stems at the point where the stems branch out.
Step 4: To attach the hanging ribbon, cut a piece of ribbon about 24 inches, you can trim to desired length later. Lay the ribbon over the top of the ball and push the ribbon through the ball with a dowel or pencil until it exits at the bottom. Tie a knot at the bottom, and another at the top leaving room for hanging.
Such a lovely project! I love the contrast of the red satin ribbon with the bright green leaves. And the little White Berries are such a nice touch. This would be perfect to use in Traditional or Old World Holiday decor.
I hope you enjoyed this wonderfully creative, and festive, Tutorial by Chris, I can hardly wait to Make a Felt Kissing Ball for my home! Do you have a spot in your home, to hang one of these this Christmas? Have you started on your Christmas Craft projects or Decorating?

Hello,
I printed out the beautiful angel and I’m excited to make the tree topper. I printed the image on good quality paper yet it looks a bit dull. Still beautiful but just not as dark/vibrant as yours. Should I be using glossy photo paper?

I would not use glossy paper, have you checked your ink cartridges to make sure they aren’t running low?
