Happy New Year everyone. This is Lesly Williams of Crescent Moon Journals. I am happy to be sharing my Graphics Fairy Design Team project for January. I decided to go for a very lacey feminine type of journal with a bit of A New Year’s touch. I started with an old book and covered it with a toile fabric, then added two different doilies, topped with a wonderful, layered doily piece that was a gift. I next added a fabric flower and leaf then pinned a paper circle tag to the front. The tag is removable.
After opening the journal, a lace pocket is visible on the inside cover with a French antique New Year’s card inside. The first page is a pocket containing a tag that I made using one of the Graphics Fairy frames.
On this page is an embossed glassine bag made into a pocket. I used eyelash trim along the bottom of the pocket and added a pink floral transfer.
The next page has a pocket made from a Victorian scrap and contains a copy of an old Carte de Visite filler card. These were used to fill in places where there wasn’t a photo. On the left is seen part of an antique document and then on the facing page there is a pocket made from a paper doily. It contains a Carte de Visite photo of a young man, and an antique card.
On the front of the pocket is an antique scrap. There are several antique photos scattered throughout the journal.
On this page is a wax seal with a bit of lace and a pocket made from an old trade card shaped like a fan. It contains a small tintype and an antique card.
This is one of my favorite spreads. The left page is a pocket and holds another pocket and a tag that I created. A lot of these things you can see if you watch the video of the full flip through at the bottom of this blog. The opposite page has a fabric flip with a lovely rose. When flipped up you have another page that opens to reveal a pocket with another card. You can easily journal on this page that flips out.
On the left you see a napkin treated to look similar to rice paper. The pocket on the right is made from a window envelope.
This page consists of some old wallpaper and an antique valentine on the right.
This shows the front of a very old New Years greeting card with some wonderful Graphics Fairy images on the right.
I love this spread as well with a mica pocket and this beautiful lady in pink. I embellished the facing page with a tiny doily and flower.
This page I added an antique scrap to the pocket which contains a tag I created.
Another pocket created from an antique scrap. This one has an antique photo and a scrap piece of old ephemera.
This pocket folds out to reveal another pocket and a mica tuck filled with a antique French letter and an old card from a scrapbook.
Lastly, I have layered some lace and a lovely image of a lady. The back cover has a lace tuck with a gorgeous antique postcard.

I want to thank the Graphics Fairy for choosing me to be part of their design team. It has been a wonderful experience and I have learned much and made wonderful new friends through this experience.
