7 Red and Purple Butterfly Images

Purple Butterfly Illustrations

This beautiful winged creature was scanned from an 1840’s Natural History book. It has lovely, and interesting, 2 toned wings! The upper wings have a gray marbled look to them and the lower wings are black, with a bright lavender stripe on them. So striking!

This lovely Vintage Purple Butterfly Image is quite a simple design, but still very nice! This one comes from a Circa 1863 German Natural History Butterflies and Moths Book. I think it has a great Bohemian style look to it! I love the soft Lavender Color of this beautiful Insect.

Red Butterfly Pictures

Here we have the mate to the purple one that we saw above. This guy has the same lovely gray marbled wings on top, but on the bottom he has a bright red and black combination on his wings, instead of the purple combo that we saw on the other one. They would look quite charming together on coordination projects I think!

This is a gorgeous Victorian Scrap piece! I’m not sure if it’s a Butterfly or a Moth, but I love the colors either way! This one has a lot of gold on it, which I know doesn’t print well, but I thought it would be fun to take a gold metallic pen and go over the gold lines, to make it sparkle! He’s quite a showy specimen.

And this one is a cute little red and black winged creature!
