How to Draw a Red Rose Step by Step
Kids or grown ups alike can follow these simple steps with this beautiful Rose Drawing guide! I would recommend creating this with a pencil, as you can erase if you have any mistakes. But you can always draw over it with an ink Pen or marker when you are done, to define him some more.
Have fun creating these beautiful flowers!
Red Rose Drawing Step 1
Step 1: Let’s draw the base of the flower. Sketch out a Circle shape. You can use a round household object and trace around it if you like, like a bottle cap or lid of some type.
Step 2:
Step 2: Next let’s create the Rose Petals. This one is a bit tricky to describe, but begin creating some loose shapes that wrap the circular area in the center, as shown above.
Step 3: Continue with more Flower Petals as shown above until the the blossom is complete.
Step 4:
Step 4: Next erase the bits of the circle that are still showing. Then draw a flat tear drop type shape extended from the base of the rose and then narrowing it at the end to begin the stem.
Step 5:
Step5: Continue the line for the stem adding a narrow section of it for the leaves as well. Add some tiny leaves at the base of the bloom. Sketch out 3 simple Leaf shapes with broken lines down the center of them. At this point you have a simple Cartoon Rose drawing. You could stop here if you want to or you can continue on with the next step to add some more detail.
Step 6:
Step6: Add the extra details as shown above. Now we are adding more lines to the Leaves and a few tiny thorns. We are also adding some shading to the flower and leaves.
Color in your Red Rose Drawing:
Coloring: The only thing left to do now is to color in your your beautiful Red Rose Drawing! Go grab your markers, Crayola crayons, oil pastels or color pencils, or whatever you have on hand, and finish your artwork masterpiece! I colored this one in Red … but you can let your creativity go wild and use whatever colors you like! Roses come in many colors besides Red, like Pink, White, Yellow, Orange and more. But you can make yours any color that you want. You get to decide!
